MERIBEL SKI RESORT
Méribel is one of the most prestigious ski resorts in the French Alps and sits at the heart of the world-famous Les 3 Vallées, the largest linked ski area in the world. With access to over 600 kilometres of ski slopes, 183 ski lifts across the Three Valleys and skiing from 1,100 metres up to 3,230 metres (Cime Caron), Méribel offers outstanding skiing and snowboarding for beginners, intermediates and experts alike. The main Méribel village sits at approximately 1,450 metres, while Méribel-Mottaret is located at 1,750 metres, offering excellent snow conditions throughout the winter season.

Méribel is home to some of the best ski schools in Europe, making it perfect for families and first-time skiers. Popular schools Marmalade ski school, New Generation Ski School and Parallel Lines, offering group lessons, private tuition, snowboard coaching and children's ski programmes. Advanced skiers can also book mountain guides for off-piste adventures throughout the Three Valleys.
The resort normally opens for the winter season from early December until mid-April, with the 2025/26 season running from 6 December 2025 until 17 April 2026. Most ski lifts operate daily from approximately 9:00 am until 4:30–5:00 pm, although closing times vary depending on the lift, weather conditions and time of season.
Getting around Méribel is easy thanks to the free Méribus shuttle service, which connects Méribel Centre, Méribel Village, Méribel-Mottaret, Les Allues and other parts of the resort throughout the ski season. The buses run regularly every day the resort is open, making it easy to reach ski lifts, accommodation, restaurants and shops without using a car.
Away from the slopes, Méribel offers a fantastic range of winter activities including snowshoeing, tobogganing, ice skating, paragliding, snowmobiling, winter hiking, spa treatments and swimming at the Olympic Park. Families will also find children's play areas, indoor activities and regular entertainment throughout the season.
Accommodation ranges from luxury five-star hotels and catered chalets to self-catering apartments and family-friendly residences. Popular places to stay include Le Kaïla, Hôtel La Chaudanne, Le Savoy, Pierre & Vacances Premium L'Hévana, Hotel Le Coucou and hundreds of privately owned chalets throughout the valley. During Christmas, New Year, February half-term and Easter holidays, early booking is highly recommended.
Méribel is also renowned for its outstanding restaurants and mountain dining. Popular restaurants include Le Clos Bernard, La Fromagerie, Le CroMagnon, L'Adray Télébar Restaurant, La Taverne and numerous mountain restaurants serving traditional Savoyard specialities including fondue, raclette and tartiflette.
The resort has one of the best après-ski scenes in the Alps. Popular venues include 50/50, Le Rond Point (The Ronnie), La Folie Douce Méribel-Courchevel, Jack's Bar, Barometer, Downtown Bar, Le Pub and Le Dionysos, offering everything from relaxed drinks by the fire to live music, DJs and lively après-ski parties that continue well into the evening.
